JAMES M. BERGER (dba BEST Solutions) 1096 Victoria Street, Antioch, Illinois 60002 (847) 838-4298 Home /BEST Solutions, www. bestsolu.com I am a contract engineer/engineering consultant with over twenty five years experience in the biomedical instrumentation field. I worked as an engineering employee for sixteen years and as an engineering consultant for nine years for various divisions of Baxter Healthcare Corporation (1979 2003). As an employee I was Manager of Reliability & Quality Engineering for eight years. I have a special interest in Energy Medicine and prefer to focus on the design and development of biomedical instrumentation to support the alternative and complementary medicine fields. My primary interest is in measuring subtle energies on and around the human body. I am interested in testing and measuring the effects of healing the human body with electromagnetic and vibrational energies, whether emitted by human or instrument. ENGINEERING BACKGROUND SUMMARY I worked for first American Hospital Supply Corporation, and then Baxter Healthcare Corporation upon their merger, for twenty-five years. During this period I worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Test Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Verification & Validation Engineer and Reliability & Quality Engineer. From 1988 to 1996 before becoming a contract engineer, I was a Manager and Technical Leader in Reliability & Quality Engineering. I have worked on the following electro-mechanical medical devices for Baxter: Cardiac Output Computers, Blood Oxygen Saturation Computers, Ultrasonic Arterial Flow Sensing Computers, Holter EKG Monitoring Recorders and Playback Equipment, Ophthalmic Laser Systems, Blood Plasma and Blood Cell Separation Systems and an Ultraviolet Light Spectroradiometer Calibration System for the plasma/platelet pathogen inactivation program. As an Electrical Engineering student I participated in the school's co-op program working for NASA in Houston, Texas first in Flight Operations, and then in Bio-Engineering. ENERGETIC HEALING EXPERIENCE SUMMARY In 1985, while working at Baxters Edwards Division in Southern California, I had the great fortune of taking a four-day Stress Management Workshop sponsored by Baxter. That workshop was the beginning of my journey into discovering the wisdom of other cultures around the world. I have literally taken a hundred different workshops, seminars, and classes since then. I have begun teaching those systems that especially intrigued me to include Hawaiian Shamanism (Huna) as taught by Dr. Serge Kahili King, Intuitive Shiatsu as taught by Ms. Alice Percy-Strauss, Energy Anatomy as taught by Dr. Caroline Myss, and the Human Energy Field as taught by Ms. Barbara Ann Brennan and Ms. Donna Eden. I received my certification in Intuitive Shiatsu from Ms. Strauss in 1986. I have studied Huna for over fifteen years, taking several workshops in California and finally the Healer Training in Kauai, Hawaii in 1986. I have taught those subjects in a series of small classes called Journeys into Self-Discovery and Self-Healing at Friends of Yoga (formerly Black Dragon Martial Arts and Yoga) in Kenosha, WI. (I am a part owner of Friends of Yoga.) I started taking Healing Touch classes in 1998 and have taken about ten classes since then. I am now a level 4 Healing Touch Practitioner Apprentice with a year of mentorship and 100 procedures to complete for my final certification.
