In 1953 Rife copyrighted his book about his research including a clinical study performed by an independent group of doctors on 16 hopeless cases of cancer. Here is an excerpt from Rife’s book:

"With the frequency instrument treatment, no tissue is destroyed, no pain is felt, no noise is audible, and no sensation is noticed. A tube lights up and 3 minutes later the treatment is completed. The virus or bacteria is destroyed and the body then recovers itself naturally from the toxic effect of the virus or bacteria. Several diseases may be treated simultaneously."

"The first clinical work on cancer was completed under the supervision of Milbank Johnson, M.D. which was set up under a Special Medical Research Committee of the University of Southern California. 16 cases were treated at the clinic for many types of malignancy. After 3 months, 14 of these so called hopeless cases were signed off as clinically cured by the staff of five medical doctors and Dr. Allvin G. Foord, M.D. Pathologist for the group. The treatments consisted of 3 minutes duration using the frequency instrument which was set on the mortal oscillatory rate for ‘BX’ or cancer (at three day intervals). It was found that the elapsed time between treatments attains better results than the cases treated daily. This gives the lymphatic system an opportunity to absorb and cast off the toxic condition which is produced by the devitalized dead particles of the ‘BX’ virus. No rise of body temperature was perceptible in any of these cases above normal during or after the frequency instrument treatment. No special diets were used in any of this clinical work, but we sincerely believe that a proper diet compiled for the individual would be of benefit."

The last two hopeless cases were treated an additional 3 months after the study and were also clinically cured. Rife intended to hand his discoveries over to the American medical establishment "on a silver platter". Rife believed, it would take 50 scientists, 50 years to just begin to understand the potential of these initial discoveries and results.

However, despite the successes, a tragic sequence of events occurred which began when it is alleged by some, that Rife refused to sell or give control of this technology to the head of the American Medical Association, Morris Fishbein. As a Doctor practicing in the United States, if you didn’t have Fishbein’s approval and thus endorsement from the AMA your career could be ruined. If you developed a promising new technology during that time you had to let Fishbein buy into that technology for a ridiculously low price or pay exorbitant prices for advertising in the AMA Journal in order to obtain AMA endorsement. Conspiracy theorists claim, that when he couldn’t take control, Fishbein set about to ruin Rife. It is alleged, that he convinced Rife’s Chief Engineer, Phillip Hoyland to take over control of the technology, claiming the Rife Beam Ray instruments of the late 1930’s, were actually his unique design, rather than a variant of Rife’s original design. A trial ensued.

Doctors who had previously supported Rife, and there were many at that time, were threatened with expulsion from the AMA. Not one person had the courage to testify for Rife during the actual trial. In the end Rife won the lawsuit, and the presiding judge offended by the original lawsuit, offered to take Rife’s case in counter suit. However, the trial completely broke Rife, not only financially, but also mentally, emotionally and spititually, and he was never the same again. Fishbein influenced the FDA to ban the use of Rife’s frequency instrument as a medical device in the United States.

During the same period, RCA came out with the electron microscope and through a brutal advertising campaign, the electron microscope became the industry standard for research. Unfortunately with that technology you kill the organisms while preparing them for viewing. Also the electron microscope only allows viewing of a shadow of the organism, rather that the actual organism. What Rife was able to see with his Universal Microscope could not be duplicated with an Electron Microscope.

Rife’s devices are still unapproved for use as medical devices in the United States. However, his work is being continued by scores of individuals. In fact, there is now so much information, with much of it conflicting, that it is difficult to determine what is fact, and what is fiction.
